HOME ENERGY MONITORS - $299 INSTALLED

A home energy audit may reveal a whole lot of places electricity can be conserved, but how can you track improvements? One of the easiest ways to do this is with a home energy monitor. But with the wide selection out there, it can be tough figuring out which option is right for you. We’re here to help you understand what kind of monitoring you’d like to do, and what gear is available to you to get the savings you want to achieve.

RADIANT BLANKET / BARRIER

Thermal barrier, Vapor barrier and Radiant barrier.  The insulation we use reduces heating and cooling costs. Reflective aluminum foil on each side of a 5mm closed-cell polyethylene foam center.  It outperforms other radiant barriers and reflective insulations over time because it’s composed of closed cell polyethylene foam sandwiched between two 99% surfaces. The insides make the insulation! The R-value (downward heat flow) 15.67 – barrier pure aluminum, low emissivity R value details reflective insulation. Ideal for hot and cold climates.

ATTIC TENT – $299 INSTALLED
The attic tent is a specially engineered, patented insulator designed to create an air transfer barrier between your attic and living areas. It is a practical and economical solution to a problem that has existed since homes were first built with overhead attic entries. That problem is wasted energy through and around the attic door and stairs.

ATTIC INSULATION (4-6 INCHES) – .75 CENTS/PSF INSTALLED

If your home is more than 5 years old, it may not be as insulated as it should be. This can result in major energy loss—especially from the attic. A well-insulated home can significantly reduce your utility bills throughout the year. No matter what kind of insulation you currently have in your attic, one quick way to determine if you need more is to look across the span of your attic. If your insulation is just level with or below your floor joists (i.e., you can easily see your joists), you should add more. It is important that the insulation be evenly distributed with no low spots; sometimes there is enough insulation in the middle of the attic and very little along the eaves.

HOT WATER HEATER BLANKET – $79 PER TANK

Unless your water heater’s storage tank already has a high R-value of insulation (at least R-24), adding insulation to it can reduce standby heat losses by 25%–45%. This will save you around 4%–9% in water heating costs. If you don’t know your water heater tank’s R-value, touch it. A tank that’s warm to the touch needs additional insulation. Insulating your storage water heater tank is fairly simple and inexpensive, and it will pay for itself in about a year.
